First Aid Training for Schools training in Newcastle

Course overview

Our First Aid Training for Schools in Newcastle is a practical, FAIB-accredited course delivered on site at Pottery Bank Community Centre or at your own school. It combines Emergency First Aid at Work with a paediatric focus, so teaching, support and early years staff can respond with confidence to emergencies involving both children and adults. The course runs as a single 1 day session for your team, with hands-on practice throughout.

Schools have a clear duty of care for pupils and staff, and early years provision must meet EYFS paediatric first aid requirements. This course equips designated school first aiders and wider staff to deal with the emergencies most likely in a school setting, from playground injuries and allergic reactions to asthma attacks and seizures. Because training is delivered at your premises, your staff learn together and disruption to the school day is kept to a minimum.

On-site group training is priced from £495 for up to 12 people. Certificates are valid for 3 years and are accredited by FAIB. To arrange a date, request a quote or call us on 0191 820 6199.

Who is this course for?

This course is designed for school teams in Newcastle: teaching and support staff, early years and nursery staff, designated first aiders, PE and activity staff, lunchtime supervisors and site teams. It suits anyone who may need to respond to a first aid emergency involving children or adults during the school day.

Please note that early years staff who must be counted in EYFS staff-to-child ratios need the full Level 3 Paediatric First Aid qualification. This course covers paediatric emergency first aid and is ideal for wider school staff and designated first aiders; we are happy to advise on the right mix of training for your school.
